May 2007: Machen visit to Sautron

For the weekend of 4th to 7th of May this year, Machen members of the association visited Sautron. As usual, the Sautronnais proved to be welcoming and generous hosts.

Apart from the obligatory over-eating and over-drinking a wide range of activities was organized. These included a tour of the recently renovated chateau in Nantes (right and below), and lunch in a nearby smaller chateau (below right), which turned out to be an extremely lavish affair with lots of courses.

Sunday was also the day of the second round of the presidential elections Sarkozy – Royal.

Many members took the opportunity to visit the polling stations to find out a little about the French voting system.
